The gardens in a building not just harbors the green space for aesthetics but it keeps the people associated with nature. With such motivation and enthusiasm, we at KMC believe in special attention to gardens thus students and staff members can connect with nature and can perform their bit to preserve mother nature. In KMC our pride is Ashoka lawn which is well-maintained with enormous floral diversity including lush green cushion grass, huge ashoka trees, traveler's palm, bonsais and many more. This green space offers distinctive aura for several academic and cultural activities of college. The second important space 'library lawn' with flowering gulmohar trees which provide a soothing avenue during hot summers where students enjoy cultural events and gatherings. Few more lawns in college premises are canteen lawn, lawn near staff-room etc. The well-maintained herbal garden and botanical garden are the places where students can visit and understand the usage of various plants. To enable easy learning among students and staff members such aspect plants are labelled with their common names, and their medicinal usage are mentioned on labels. We have also given names like Bodh Vriksha, Swarn Vriksha, Shodh Vriksha and Prakash Vriksha to age old trees belonging to Ficus Species. Recently, 'Nakshtra Garden' has also been setup in the college where herbs and shrubs are planted according to various zodiac signs. Such initiative is an attempt to disseminate our traditional culture and knowledge among students.

The maintenance of such spaces is a herculean task which is dedicatedly performed by our gardeners and garden committee members. The timely pruning of hedges, grass, seasonal sowing of plants, pot preparation etc. are amongst few responsibilities which deserve special mention and accolades to our gardeners. We at KMC, are following REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE. To follow the same, we are fulfilling multiple activities and efforts. We are using bio-bins where our college canteen waste gets recycled and used as manure. We have vermicomposting unit where the leaf litter from various lawns and college premises is collected and converted into vermicompost under the supervision of faculty members. We also have a well-maintained nursery to prepare seedings for seasonal plants, pot maintenance, bonsai preparation etc. By the efforts of garden committee every year on World Environment Day college runs a small plantation drive in and around college campus.
