The North Eastern Cell of Kirori Mal College recently held a panel discussion titled " Dialogue for Change: North East India in the Mainstream Discourse". The panel was composed of distinguished luminaries, with the likes of Shri Madan Prasad Bezbaruah, Chairman of the Bezbaruah Committee and Shri Pradyut Bordoloi, Hon'ble MP (Lok Sabha), Nowgong. The panellists were welcomed graciously by our Principal Prof. Dinesh Khattar, who also addressed the august gathering. The panel discussion was kick started and moderated by Dr. Biplob Barman. It avoided the trappings of a general seminar which usually ends up in a one way speech constructive rather it was a much more interactive session wherein the students were directing questions at the panel and they were answered by the joint intellect and knowledge of our two panel members. The discussions encompassed a plethora of topics including the role of media, polarisation, policy making, current challenges and prospective solutions. It was a heavily enriching session and thoroughly quenched the audience's informative thirst.
